Canvas Integration

How does UniFlow connect to Canvas?

UniFlow includes a built-in browser where you can log in to Canvas directly. This works exactly like using Canvas in any web browser — you authenticate with your own credentials, and UniFlow reads the content from pages you visit.

Important: UniFlow does NOT use web scraping, bots, or automated crawlers. All Canvas access happens through your authorized browser session.

Is this considered web scraping?

No. Web scraping typically refers to automated bots that extract data without user interaction. UniFlow works differently:

You manually log in to Canvas using your own credentials
You navigate to pages you want to access
UniFlow reads content from pages you're actively viewing
Data is cached locally, similar to how any web browser caches pages

This is similar to how password managers or accessibility tools read and interact with web pages you visit.

Is my Canvas data secure?

Yes. Your Canvas data is handled securely:

Your Canvas password is never stored by UniFlow
Authentication happens directly with your school's Canvas server
Extracted data is stored locally on your device
Cloud-synced data is encrypted and protected by row-level security
Only you can access your data

Will UniFlow work with my school's Canvas?

What data does UniFlow collect?

It uses a vector knowledge graph to deeply retrieve your course data, citing evidence from 8 data source types (syllabus, modules, assignments, quizzes, announcements, discussions, grades, and files) for academically rigorous, verifiable answers.

Which AI models does UniFlow use?

UniFlow supports multiple AI providers including:

OpenAI GPT (including GPT-4)

What is the Writing Assistant?

The Writing Assistant analyzes your writing quality and provides sentence-level feedback on clarity, style, and vocabulary. It offers one-click improvement suggestions to help you write more naturally and effectively.

Are my documents used to train AI?

No. Your documents are processed by AI models for the specific task you request, but they are not stored or used to train any AI models. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What is Live Transcription?

Live Transcription captures audio (like lectures) and converts it to text in real-time using Deepgram's high-precision engine. It supports:

Why isn't my data syncing?

Try these steps:

Make sure you're logged into Canvas in UniFlow's built-in browser
Check that you're logged into the same UniFlow account on all devices
Refresh the Canvas page
Restart the desktop app

How do I reset my password?

Go to the login page
Click "Forgot password?"
Enter your email address
Check your email for the reset link

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored in:

Local storage: On your device for offline access
Cloud database: Supabase (encrypted, secure, with row-level security)

You can delete your data at any time from the app settings.
